Full Moon Photo

It was full moon day on 24th Dec 2007. I was pretty lucky so I had a chance to take full moon photo. I get the inspiration from Anna's blog, http://myonlyphoto.blogspot.com/, on this full moon photo.

Cheers,
DSM

My camera just plain doesn't take good photos at night. This photo is amazing! How did you do it?

swordie and NYCindividual,

Here is my setting and tip as follows:

Camera: Canon EOS 400D
Lens: 70-300 SIGMA APO DG MACRO and zoom at 300 mm
Light metering: Partial Metering
Exposure: -1
White balance: Auto
File format: RAW
ISO: 400
Shutter speed: 1/800

I did not use tripod because I had enough shutter speed (1/800).

If you use a compact digital camera, you may need to use Tripod ,zoom as much as possible and use self timer in order to reduce vibration while taking photos.

DSM

DMS thank you so much for the linking to my blog, this is really nice photograph of the moon. Glad that I was able to pass on the inspiration. Moon, even it looks same everytime, to me it is not. And I love to see what others get. BTW no luck for us here in Canada or my area, overcast unfortunately, but there are always many more Xmases ahead for years to come. Great photo again, Anna :)

Anna, thanks for your initiative on moon photo. It's pretty challenge to get the full moon shot because not only equipment but also lucky too. I agree with you that every time I see the moon photo is not the same.
